Little Explorers is Open for Registration
The summer session was a huge success and we’re excited for the fall season! We are adding more classes and additional locations.
Little Explorers is an 8 week, 45-minute long, parent involved class created to spike children’s curiosity, build their connection with nature, and learn more about the world around them. Our little explorers will engage in hands-on activities, sensory experiences, and nature-inspired play. By participating, children will develop their problem-solving skills while developing their creativity and a love for nature.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will the classes be like? The theme for this camp is “In Our Own Backyard” and focus on learning about the nature and wildlife around Greer/Century Park. Each class will start with a lesson (usually with a short book read), followed by and activity and/or craft.
What does parent involved mean? Parent involved means parents/caregivers will be present with their child for the class. The instructor will lead the class and direct and assist all activities; and parents will help their child as needed. However this class is geared towards allowing children to foster their own independence and creativity, so not much assistance will be necessary.
Where does the class curriculum come from? The lesson plans for Little Explorers are created from forest school curriculums and other homeschool curriculum resources. We do extensive research to provide quality lesson plans that are reputable and age appropriate.
What happens if it rains? The class with be held in a covered picnic area, therefore for rain we will continue with the class, however we will not have class if there is lightening. The choice to continue or cancel class will be decided the day before and communicated to parents. We will be able to do makeup classes should we experience a class cancellation.
Will there be snacks at the class? Since it is a 45 minute class occurring between breakfast and lunch, we will not provide any snacks. There is however a water fountain on site and you are allowed to bring whatever you need should you be coming to play in the area before and/or after the class. We do ask that you do not bring snacks with peanuts or tree nuts to the class. Note: If you are a nursing mother, you are welcome to breastfeed your infant if needed.
What if we’re out of town or unable to attend a class? If you must miss a class, we will provide you with the lesson and activity/craft directions and materials so you are able to learn and enjoy on your own.
My child goes to daycare, is this program offered anywhere else? Little Explorers can be offered at local daycares. If you would like for us to inquire about offering the program at your child’s daycare, please email us the daycare and whom we should contact there and we will get in touch with them.
We can’t attend this one but are interested in the future, do you know when it will be offered again? The next round of Little Explorers is currently set to start after the winter holidays. If you would like to know when the next round of registration opens, please join our email list and you’ll be kept up to date.
